Four steps. Start to finish.

Most installations are complete in a single day. But the work that matters most happens before I touch a single cable.

1

Step one · Free

Power Availability Assessment

I visit your home or business and assess your electrical supply from the ground up — your DB board, main breaker capacity, existing load, and the best position for your charger. This is the step most installers skip. I don’t.

What I’m checking: whether your supply can sustain a continuous 7.4kW load overnight without risk; whether your DB board needs a new breaker or a full upgrade; and where to run cable with minimum disruption to your property.
2

Step two · No obligation

Written Proposal

You receive a clear, itemised written proposal — what needs to be done, what it will cost, and which charger I recommend for your specific setup. No verbal estimates. No surprises on invoice day.

Honest by design: if your existing wiring is already suitable and only minor work is needed, I’ll tell you that. If I think you don’t need me, I’ll tell you that too. The proposal is yours to keep, with no commitment required.
3

Step three · Installation day

Installation

I arrive, I do the work, I clean up. You get a dedicated circuit, correctly rated cabling, an isolator switch, earth leakage protection, and your charger mounted and configured — including smart scheduling if your unit supports it.

You get me, not a crew: every connection is made by a licensed electrician. If your installation includes solar integration or load balancing, that’s configured on the day and tested before I leave.
4

Step four · Legal sign-off

Certificate of Compliance

Every EVCI.tech installation closes with a Certificate of Compliance issued in your name. This is a legal requirement under South African electrical regulations — and a requirement of your home insurer. It’s included in every job, not charged as an extra.

Why it matters: without a CoC, your insurer can reject a claim related to the installation. With one, you have documented proof that a licensed electrician completed the work to code. Keep it with your property records.

A few things people always ask.

How long does it take?

Most home installations are completed in half a day. Larger jobs or DB upgrades may run a full day. You’ll know in advance from the proposal.

Do I need to be home?

Yes, for the assessment and for installation day. I’ll agree a time that works for you — no all-day waiting windows.

Do you supply the charger?

I can arrange supply, or you can purchase based on my written recommendation. Either way, the advice is brand-independent — I recommend what suits your setup, not what’s in stock.

What if my board needs upgrading?

It’ll be in the proposal with a clear cost before any work begins. No surprises. You decide whether to proceed.

Start with step one — it’s free.

Book your power availability assessment and get a written proposal at no cost and no obligation. Just a straight answer from a licensed electrician.
